NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme for Host Communities. In celebration of Nigeria LNG Limited’s (NLNG) 35th anniversary and 25 years of operational success in Nigeria, the NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme (UGSS) is offering a special edition for students from its host communities. This scholarship supports high-achieving students in Nigerian public universities, helping them to complete their undergraduate studies.

Requirements for the NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme

Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Citizenship and Residence: Must be a Nigerian citizen from one of NLNG’s host communities.
  • University Enrollment: Must be enrolled in a federal or state-owned university in Nigeria.
  • Academic Qualifications:
    • Five O-Level credits, including Mathematics and English, in a single sitting.
    • A minimum UTME score of 200.
  • Course of Study: Must be studying Engineering, Computer Science, Environmental Science, or Geo-science on a full-time basis.
  • Academic Performance: A minimum CGPA of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale (or 3.0 on a 4.0 scale).
  • Age: Between 18 and 25 years old.
  • Additional Conditions:
    • Must not hold another scholarship, bursary, or grant.
    • Must not be related to NLNG staff.
  • Community Verification: Must provide a valid ID letter from the host community and Local Government Council.

Applicants should prepare scanned copies of the following documents for upload:

  • Recent Passport Photo: White background, 450px by 450px, not more than 200kb.
  • O-Level and UTME Results.
  • University and JAMB Admission Letters.
  • University Student ID Card.
  • Birth Certificate: Issued by the National Population Commission.
  • Local Government Area Letter of Identification.
  • National ID Number (NIN) Slip.
  • Academic Transcripts: Signed by the university’s registry or exams unit.
  • Community Identification Letter: Signed by the CDC Chairman or a local ruler.

Ensure each document is named clearly for easy identification.

Steps to Apply

To apply, follow these steps:

  1. Access the Application Portal: Go to the NLNG UGSS Application Portal.
  2. Register an Account: Use your personal email to create an account.
  3. Activate Account: Click the link sent to your email to activate the account.
  4. Complete Application:
    • Log in with your email and password.
    • Fill out personal, educational, and other required details.
    • Upload all necessary documents.
    • Ensure names in the application match those on your documents.
  5. Document Preview: Check all uploaded documents for accuracy.
  6. Photo Upload: Upload a passport photo with a white background.
  7. Submit Application: Review for any errors, then click “Apply Now.”
  8. Confirmation: You will receive a confirmation email.

Important: Only use a personal email for the Scholastica account—avoid using anyone else’s email or account.

The deadline for the scholarship has not been specified, so early application is encouraged.
