NLNG Prize for Literature 2025

NLNG Prize for Literature 2025; The Nigeria Prize for Literature is now accepting entries.

The prestigious prize rotates annually among four genres—Prose Fiction, Poetry, Drama, and Children’s Literature. This year’s focus is Prose Fiction.

Prize Award

A cash prize of $100,000 will be awarded to the best book by a Nigerian author.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be Nigerian citizens and provide a photocopy of a Nigerian passport or National Identity Card.
  • Submit one published book (unpublished works are ineligible).
  • Ensure the book was published in 2022 or later.
  • Not submit books previously entered for the competition, even if revised or republished.
  • Not be members of the Advisory Board, Panel of Judges, or NLNG staff and their families.

Submission Process

  1. Obtain the application form from  The Nigeria Prizes Website.
  2. Print and submit the completed form along with:
    • Twelve (12) hard copies of the book.
    • One (1) e-copy of the book.
  3. Send entries to any of the following locations:
