Award Details
- Number of Scholarships: Up to 16 scholarships for the 2025/2026 academic year.
- Allocation:
- One recipient from each of the 14 Tiv-speaking LGAs in Benue State.
- One recipient each from Taraba and Nasarawa states.
- Award Amount: To be determined and announced after the selection process.
- Eligible Expenses: Tuition, fees, research, or other education-related costs.
Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be enrolled in an undergraduate program in STEM, medicine, or allied medical fields.
- Have a minimum CGPA:
- 3.5 on a 5.0 scale or 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Applicants who do not meet this CGPA requirement will not be considered.
Application Process
To apply, follow these steps:
- Complete the online application form: Access the application form on MUTA’s official website.
- Upload Supporting Documents:
- Personal Statement:
- Write a two-page, double-spaced essay.
- Include details about your academic history, achievements, community service, career goals, and financial need.
- Certificate of Origin: A document confirming your state or local government origin.
- CGPA Certification Form:
- Obtain a signed letter from your institution’s Academic Officer or Head of Department verifying your CGPA.
- Download the CGPA Certification Form from the section below the application form on the website.
- Personal Statement:
Evaluation Criteria
Applications will be evaluated based on:
- CGPA (60%).
- Personal Statement (40%).

- Submission Deadline:
- Applications and supporting documents must be submitted by 5 PM, Tuesday, 15 April 2025 (US EST, GMT-5).
- Notification of Winners:
- Successful applicants will be notified via email.
- Winners’ names will also be published on MUTA’s official website and social media platforms by June 2025.
- Award Ceremony:
- Scheduled for July or August 2025.
