MOUAU Releases 2022/2023 Admission into Specialized Postgraduate Programs
Qualified candidates from all nationalities are invited to apply. CERCORD offers specialized postgraduate courses leading to the award of Masters (M.Sc/M.Engr.) and Doctorate (PhD.) degrees. The programs are designed to integrate academic and entrepreneurial skills with research focused on the following areas:
- M.Sc. Food Processing and Postharvest Technology
- Ph.D. Food Processing and Postharvest Technology
- M.Sc. Crop Improvement and Production
- Ph.D. Crop Improvement and Production
- M.Eng. Farm Mechanization and Automation
- Ph.D. Farm Mechanization and Automation
- M.Sc. Agriprenuership and Sustainable Technology Transfer
- Ph.D. Agriprenuership and Sustainable Technology Transfer
ELIGIBILITY:
Candidates from all nationalities, both within and outside Africa, who hold qualifications equivalent to recognized first degrees in relevant disciplines are eligible to apply.
For the M.Sc. programs, graduates with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a 5-point scale in B.Sc. Food Sc. & Tech., B.Tech (Food Sc. & Tech), B.Agric, B.Sc. Agric, B.Tech Agric, and B.Eng Agric are eligible.
Candidates with a PGD in relevant disciplines and a minimum Upper Credit (or CGPA of 3.0 on a 5-point scale) are also eligible, provided they meet the basic university matriculation requirements of five (5) O’ level credits in their relevant disciplines.
The Ph.D. programs are open to Master’s degree holders in courses relevant to the different program options.
DURATION:
M.Sc. Programs:
- Coursework and dissertation for 4 semesters
- 2-3 months of internship in collaborating industries, parastatals, and institutions
Ph.D. Programs:
- Mainly research-based, spanning 6 semesters
- 2-3 months of internship in collaborating industries, parastatals, and institutions
MODE OF DELIVERY:
Course delivery will be in a hybrid mode, combining physical and virtual methods.
FEES:
The program is tuition-free; however, other charges outside tuition fees will be applicable according to MOUAU postgraduate requirements.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
All applicants should visit the MOUAU PORTAL at https://portal.mouau.edu.ng and follow the steps for registration under “CERCORD.” After completing the biodata form, proceed to payment. The application fee is twenty-five thousand naira (N25,000) only. Use your CAN number for application continuation after payment.
Applicants must request their respective institutions (universities) to directly send their academic transcripts to the Admin Lead, CERCORD, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike. A soft copy should also be sent to cercord@mouau.edu.ng.
