ParticipantI would tell my younger self to go easy on herself. Life isn’t something we deal with by fussing over little mistakes.
I’ll also tell my younger self to embrace change. I’ll tell my younger self that she’s allowed to feel and her emotions are valid

ParticipantI love the third and fourth point.
Parenting isn’t a one man’s job and parenting shouldn’t take away the fact that you are always lovers. In as much as you love your children, it wouldn’t mean much if you don’t spend time with each other and keep growing your love. If not, you’ll find out that it was only the children uniting you anyways and that is fickle

ParticipantThis situation can be looked at from different angles but communication is what matters.
According to the context of the story, you probably should have attended this gathering more than once. This gathering holds twice a year and it is obvious that the time for this event isn’t fixed. I don’t think you were wrong for hanging out with your friends because it is clear that you were given a short notice (all your plans shouldn’t have to revolve around something that is uncertain) but what matters is how you made that known to your girlfriend. After all, you shouldn’t be the only one to compromise. She’s not wrong for being sad that you aren’t there, that only shows how much she loves you but I am sure you would have let her know about your plans even before it was finalised. She could as well reason from your point of view .
Relationship is about compromise and honestly, there’s no correct answer to this question

ParticipantComing from the source…
I think the idea of truth should only originated from God. He clearly tells us he is is the source of all truth, so, before we call anything “true” we should check if it is consistent with what God says or who he is. For example, we cannot just go about calling people ugly just because we feel they don’t look good. We would usually say “he or she should deal with it, that’s just how life is…blah blah” when God clearly says we are beautifully made. We would keep hurting ourselves if we don’t know the idea of what truth should mean and if we keep using the world’s standards to judge or call something “true”
We pray for wisdom.
Do we agree with this?

ParticipantTwitter??
Bro…that place is a citadel of judgement
I don’t think social media is an ideal place to air your thoughts without being judged o. Just go and tell God,your family or friends -

ParticipantI strongly agree
Social media is a virtual space and so many people just know it is true but haven’t beat it into their consciousness that it is a fact. Most people are victims of depression and suicide because we don’t realise that the posts, updates, opinions and lifestyle of individual are fake most times.
Some people could also be victims of cyber bullying. All this is wrong and could be a potential cause of suicide and depression but I would like us to know that it isn’t real. Infact, just to save yourself the trouble of figuring out everything you see on the media…just assume it is all fake. They’re all built on lies and that’s the best way to save ourselves because honestly, we need social media for almost everything. It is better to build up a defense wall around our mind first before combating the problem -

ParticipantWell, I am not yet a parent but with the future in view, each of these points complement themselves. We can’t have proper communication and find it difficult to seek help or understand and support each others parenting styles. Each stated point is equally important and I am definitely looking forward to implementing them… someday
