McPherson Releases 2023/2024 Postgraduate Admission Form; McPherson University invites applications from qualified candidates for admission to the following postgraduate courses in 2022/2023:

McPherson University is currently accepting applications from qualified individuals for admission into its postgraduate courses for the 2023/2024 academic year. The following programs are available:
McPherson Releases 2023/2024 Postgraduate Admission Form
- Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Computer Science
- Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Computer Science
- Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science
- Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Accounting
- Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Please find below the admission requirements for each program:
(a) PGD in Computer Science:
- A Bachelor’s degree in any related discipline or a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer Science may be considered for admission.
(b) M.Sc. in Computer Science:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with at least a Second Class lower division from a recognized university.
- Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with a Third Class degree and a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Computer Science or a related discipline may be considered for admission.
- Holders of an HND in Computer Science or a related discipline from a recognized university with a PGD in Computer Science or a related discipline may also be considered for admission.
- Applicants must have completed the mandatory one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program or have been exempted or excluded as applicable.
(c) Ph.D. in Computer Science:
- Candidates must fulfill the admission requirements for the M.Sc. program.
- Candidates who have obtained an M.Sc. degree with an average of 60% in Computer Science from McPherson University or any other approved institution may be admitted for the Ph.D. program.
- Candidates registered for the M.Phil. program who have demonstrated exceptional ability may, upon recommendation by the Head of the Department, be transferred to the Ph.D. program at the end of the third semester.
- Applicants must have completed the mandatory one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program or have been exempted or excluded as applicable.
M.B.A. Basic Admission Requirements:
- Candidates must have five credit passes, including English Language, Mathematics, and three other subjects at O’ Level.
- Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.Sc.) in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Economics, Insurance, Marketing, Business Administration, or other related disciplines must obtain a minimum of Second Class Lower Division in their respective Bachelor’s degree.
- Holders of HND with professional qualifications (ACA, ACCA, ANAN, ACMA, ACIT, AIB, ACIS) or HND with a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) are eligible to apply.
- Candidates with professional qualifications (ACA, ACCA, ANAN, ACMA, ACIT, AIB, ACIS) and a PGD in any of the Management Sciences are also eligible.
- Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree in any other discipline, coupled with industrial experience and a minimum of Second Class Lower Division, can apply.
- Candidates must have completed the mandatory one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program or have been exempted as applicable.
Additional Requirements:
- Post-qualification experience is advantageous for prospective candidates.
- Proficiency in the English Language is required for foreign applicants applying for the MCU-MBA program.
M.Sc. in Accounting Basic Admission Requirements:
- Candidates for the M.Sc. program in Accounting must have five credit passes, including English Language, Mathematics, Economics/Commerce/Accounting, and two other commercial or social sciences subjects at O’ Level.
- Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.Sc.) in Accounting, Finance, Banking and Finance, or Economics with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division from approved and registered universities are eligible to apply.
- Applicants must have completed the mandatory one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program or have been exempted as applicable.
