MAUTECH Opens 2025/2026 Postgraduate Admissions. The School of Postgraduate Studies at Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH), Yola, has formally opened applications for admission into its postgraduate programmes for the 2025/2026 academic year.
Prospective students can apply for a range of programmes including Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), Master’s, Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees across various faculties and disciplines.
Available Programmes
MAUTECH offers a broad portfolio of postgraduate programmes designed to meet academic and professional advancement goals. These include:
- Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)
- Master’s Degree (M.Sc., MBA, MPA, etc.)
- Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.)
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

Admission Requirements
Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)
Applicants must possess one of the following:
- A Bachelor’s degree (minimum of Third Class) from a recognised university
- A Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least Lower Credit (minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5-point scale)
- Other qualifications deemed acceptable by the Postgraduate School Board
Note: Departments may request additional assessments such as written tests or interviews.
Master’s Degree
To be eligible for admission into a Master’s programme, candidates must hold:
- A minimum of Second Class Lower in a relevant Bachelor’s degree
- A Postgraduate Diploma with at least Lower Credit for applicants with a Third Class or HND
- Additional entry assessments may be required, depending on the department
Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.)
Applicants must have:
- A Master’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 on a 5-point scale or 50% Weighted Average Mark
- Some programmes may require a qualifying examination
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
Direct PhD admission requires:
- A Master’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5-point scale
- M.Phil. holders with the same CGPA may also apply
- Only degrees obtained from accredited institutions will be considered
General Entry Conditions
All applicants are expected to meet the following baseline requirements:
- A minimum of five credit passes in relevant O’Level subjects, including English Language and Mathematics
- Candidates who obtained their first degrees before 2004 may be considered with a pass in either English or Mathematics
- Additional departmental screening may apply

Application Procedure
To apply, candidates are advised to follow the steps below:
- Visit the official MAUTECH Postgraduate Portal
- Create a candidate profile using a valid mobile number
- Purchase the application form (₦15,000) using the same phone number
- Complete and submit the online form
- Print two copies of the completed application
- Attach photocopies of all academic credentials to both copies

Transcript Submission Guidelines
All applicants are required to:
- Complete the online transcript request form
- Instruct their previous institution to forward official transcripts, along with the completed request form, to: The Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies
