The School of Health Information Management (SHIM) at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) is now accepting applications for its National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes in Health Information Management for the 2025/2026 academic session.

These programmes are fully accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and the Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria (HRORBN).

ND Admission Requirements for LUTH SHIM
To be eligible for the ND programme, applicants must have:
- Five (5) O’Level credit passes in no more than two sittings, including:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics
- A minimum JAMB score of 150
- Participation in the LUTH SHIM Post-UTME screening exam
All candidates must submit valid application details and take part in the school’s screening exercise.
HND Admission Requirements for LUTH SHIM
To apply for the HND programme, you must:
- Have the same five O’Level science subject credits as required for the ND
- Possess a National Diploma in Health Information Management from an NBTE-accredited institution, with at least Lower Credit
- Have one year of relevant work experience (industrial or clinical attachment) in a recognised healthcare facility
- Use a valid email address for communication throughout the application process
- Sit for both a written entrance exam and an oral interview at the SHIM School Hall or Human Resources Centre
How to Apply for LUTH SHIM Admission (ND & HND)
Follow these steps to complete your application online:
- Visit the portal: luth.gov.ng/schools
- Select SHIM from the list of schools
- Create an account by filling in the Account Creation Form with accurate personal details
- Check your email for login credentials
- Make payment:
- Log in and click on “MAKE PAYMENT”
- You will be redirected to Remita
- Pay the ₦10,000 application fee (you can pay immediately or later)
- Complete your application at luth.gov.ng/profile
- Print your bio-data form (sent to your email) – it will be required during the entrance exam
