LASU Secures NUC Approval for 4 New Undergraduate Programmes in Computing and IT; Lagos State University (LASU) has achieved another major milestone with the approval of four new full-time undergraduate programmes in its Faculty of Computing and Information Technology. This approval was granted by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and further strengthens LASU’s reputation as a leading institution in technology-driven education.
The approval was communicated in a letter dated 3rd November 2025, signed by the Acting Director of Academic Planning, Mr. Abubakar M. Girei, on behalf of the NUC Executive Secretary. It followed a rigorous resource verification exercise conducted by expert panels who assessed the University’s human and material resources for the proposed programmes.
Newly Approved LASU Computing and IT Programmes
Effective from the 2025/2026 academic session, the NUC has approved the establishment of the following four programmes:
- B.Sc. Cyber Security
- B.Sc. Software Engineering
- B.Sc. Information and Communication Technology
- B.Sc. Data Science
It is important to note that the approval currently applies only to full-time modes of study.
