What is Hackaholics?
Hackaholics is WEMA Bank’s annual innovation challenge designed to discover and support Africa’s brightest minds in tech and business. Participants collaborate, build, pitch, and grow their solutions using real-world digital tools—with the chance to win cash prizes, funding, mentorship, and even jobs.
You can apply from anywhere and at any skill level. The only requirement? A desire to innovate.

The Hackathon – For teams that want to design, code, and build digital tools under pressure.
The Startup Pitch – For founders ready to pitch their vision to a panel of judges and potential investors.

Contest Stages
- Stage 1 – Application
Submit your details through the official portal. All coders, founders, and idea builders are welcome. - Stage 2 – Regional Preliminaries
Shortlisted teams will be grouped by region. Mentors will guide you as you improve your project for the next stage. - Stage 3 – Final Demo
Top teams will present their projects to a judging panel made up of tech experts and WEMA Bank executives. - Stage 4 – Grand Finale
Winners will receive funding, mentorship, and the opportunity to work directly with WEMA Bank’s innovation team.

Hackaholics 6.0 will take place across multiple locations in Nigeria and beyond:
- South-West: Lagos, Oyo, Kwara, Ondo, Ekiti, Ogun
