JAMB trains 2000 invigilators – warns candidates against bringing banned items to the exam hall; Prior to the 2023 Unified Tertiary and Matriculation Exams, JAMB revealed that it has educated no fewer than 2,000 invigilators (UTME) The training was a part of the Board’s attempts to give all officials the basic understanding of computers and strategies for handling any technical difficulties that might develop during the administration of the exam.

The seminar, which was virtually held on Saturday, March 4, 2023, also covered the need for all examination authorities to always conduct themselves professionally, especially when handling incidents of misconduct without necessarily stirring up trouble in the hall.
Exam officials were also instructed to refrain from extorting candidates while simultaneously ensuring that they were safeguarded from all forms of extortion. Also, they are urged to get to their centers on time.
In a related development, JAMB has cautioned applicants that the prohibition on phones, calculators, and other devices in the exam room is still in effect.
Furthermore forbidden during the exam, according to Oloyede, are smart buttons, wallets/purses, necklaces, rings, bracelets, keyholders, Bluetooth devices, cameras, microphones, recorders, contact lenses, books, spyglasses, smartwatches, pens/biros, and earpieces as well as flash drives. He added that any candidate found to be going against the rule would face consequences from the board.
The UTME for this year is scheduled to run from April 29 to May 12.
