JAMB Announces Official Cut-Off Marks for 2025 Admissions; The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the minimum cut-off marks for admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions for the 2025/2026 academic session. This announcement was made by the JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, during the 2025 JAMB Policy Meeting held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, in Abuja.
JAMB Cut-Off Marks for 2025
Here are the approved minimum cut-off marks:
- Universities: 150
- Polytechnics and Colleges of Education: 100
- Colleges of Nursing Sciences: 140
These cut-off marks serve as the national minimum thresholds. However, institutions have the liberty to set their own cut-off marks above these benchmarks. They cannot go below the minimum established by JAMB.
Key Highlights from the Policy Meeting
- The meeting was attended by key stakeholders in the education sector including the Minister of Education, Tunji Alaussa, vice-chancellors, rectors, registrars, and other top officials from tertiary institutions.
- It was reiterated that the minimum age for admission into any tertiary institution in Nigeria remains 16 years.
What This Means for 2025 UTME Candidates
With the official announcement of the JAMB cut-off marks, most public universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and colleges of nursing are expected to commence their Post-UTME and screening application processes soon.
Candidates are advised to:
- Stay informed by regularly checking official school portals for Post-UTME screening updates.
- Ensure they meet the departmental and institutional requirements, which may be higher than the JAMB minimum cut-off.
