Administered by the Irish government, this program is overseen by the Higher Education Authority in collaboration with Irish universities. Sixty full-time master’s or doctoral scholarships are awarded annually, covering a wide range of fields of study.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be domiciled outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland/United Kingdom.
- Candidates must apply for admission to a relevant master’s or PhD program at an eligible higher education institution, following the institution’s admission procedures.
- A conditional or final offer of admission to the higher education institution must be obtained at the time of application, and a copy of the offer letter must be submitted.
- The offer letter should confirm the student’s acceptance as an international fee-paying student. Russian and Belarussian nationals are not eligible to apply due to ongoing geopolitical circumstances.
Benefits:
- Each Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship includes a stipend of €10,000 for one year of full-time study at the master’s or PhD level.
- Host institutions are required to grant full fee waivers to scholarship recipients for the duration of their scholarship.
- Successful scholars are expected to commence their studies in September or October 2024.

- Applications must be submitted through the online portal, along with two uploaded references.
- It is advisable to submit applications well in advance of the deadline to avoid technical issues due to server traffic.
