Eligibility:
To be eligible for these positions, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in fields such as peace and conflict studies, International Relations, or political science.
- The candidate’s PhD project should focus on terrorist groups or counter-terrorism in the MENA region or Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Possess excellent English language skills, very good proficiency in Arabic or French, and a good command of German.
- Have substantial experience abroad.
- Proficient in quantitative or qualitative research methods.
Employment Requirements:
- Completed teaching degree.
- Proof of at least three years of school service after passing the 2nd state examination in a relevant school subject, particularly “Politics and Economics” or “Social Sciences.”

- The research associate will be based at the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF) and will work within the research group on terrorism.
Responsibilities:
The position’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Implementing practical school studies in educational science for teacher training students in all subjects.
- Supervising block internships, including school visits.
- Conducting educational science proseminars on various topics, such as educational theories, social and cultural living conditions, political education, communication and conflict, mediality, gender, educational systems, school as an organization, and professionalization.
- Supervising academic term papers for student teachers.
- Administering (state examination) exams in sociology or political science.
