Godfrey Okoye University Issues Key Academic and Event Updates for Students and Staff; The Vice-Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University, Rev. Fr. Prof. Christian Anieke, has announced several important updates regarding the conclusion of the 2024/2025 academic session and the commencement of the new academic year, alongside upcoming events and programmes aimed at enriching students’ academic and entrepreneurial experience.


End of 2024/2025 Academic Session

Godfrey Okoye University Issues Key Academic and Event Updates for Students and Staff

Students in the following categories have officially concluded the 2024/2025 academic session:

  • 100 to 400 Level – Faculty of Law
  • 100 to 300 Level – Other Faculties

All continuing students are expected to return to campus on October 2, 2025, for the beginning of the new academic year.


Degree Examinations and Other Final-Year Activities

  • Degree Examinations:
    Scheduled to hold from July 21 to August 8, 2025.
  • General Ability Test:
    Slated for July 31, 2025. All final-year students are expected to participate.
  • Thanksgiving Mass for Final-Year Students:
    Will take place on August 3, 2025, in celebration of the completion of their academic journey.
  • Final-Year Students Departure:
    All final-year students are required to vacate the campus by August 9, 2025.

25th Priestly Anniversary of the Vice-Chancellor

Rev. Fr. Prof. Christian Anieke also extended a warm invitation to members of the university community and well-wishers to attend his 25th Priestly Anniversary, which will be held on July 27, 2025, at the Omnium Sanctorum Chaplaincy, Thinkers Corner Campus.


2025 Summer Skills Acquisition Month (SAM)

Registration is now open for the 2025 Summer Skills Acquisition Month (SAM) entrepreneurship programme. This initiative is targeted at students from 100 level up to their penultimate year.

  • Registration Deadline: July 31, 2025
  • Objective: To equip students with practical, entrepreneurial skills that prepare them for self-employment and job creation after graduation.

STEP-S Train-the-Trainer Workshop

The Directorate of Entrepreneurship (DoE) will host the STEP-S Train-the-Trainer Workshop from July 14 to 18, 2025. The event will take place at:

  • Peter Mbah Law Auditorium
  • DoE Building, Thinkers Corner Campus

This training workshop is designed to prepare academic staff for the launch and delivery of the STEP-S entrepreneurship programme for undergraduates starting in October 2025.
