FUPRE Introduces New B.Sc. Programmes for Science and Non-Science Students. The Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE), has expanded its undergraduate offerings with new Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) programmes across science and business disciplines. This development creates new pathways for students interested in careers in energy, petroleum, logistics, and environmental sciences.

The initiative is part of the university’s efforts to stay responsive to evolving industry demands and to offer more relevant academic options that combine theoretical knowledge with hands-on training.
New Programmes in Business and Management
College of Petroleum Administration and Management
This college has introduced four new degree programmes tailored for students without a science background but who are interested in the administrative, strategic, and data-driven sides of the energy sector.
Available Courses:
- B.Sc. Entrepreneurship
- B.Sc. Logistics and Supply Chain Management
- B.Sc. Petroleum Information Management
- B.Sc. Procurement Management
Each programme integrates business fundamentals with energy-specific applications. Students will gain skills in operations, data systems, strategy, procurement, and supply chain, all within the context of the oil, gas, and broader energy sectors.
New Programmes in Science
College of Science
For students interested in laboratory work, research, and the scientific principles behind energy, health, and the environment, three new programmes are now available.
Available Courses:
- B.Sc. Biochemistry
- B.Sc. Microbiology
- B.Sc. Petroleum Chemistry
These science-based degrees combine lectures with hands-on lab sessions and field-based research. Graduates will be equipped to address real-world scientific and industrial challenges, from microbial testing to chemical analysis of petroleum compounds.
