The press statement, issued by Mr. Olusola O. TAIWO, the Secretary of the School of Postgraduate Studies, and signed by Mr. Mufutau A. IBRAHIM, the University Registrar, highlights the commencement of postgraduate admissions for the 2024/2025 academic session.
Newly Introduced Postgraduate Programs
FUOYE’s School of Postgraduate Studies is offering a wide range of programs across different faculties, catering to the diverse academic interests of prospective students. These programs include:
- Faculty of Agriculture: Various programs in areas such as Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Animal Production & Health, and more.
- Faculty of Arts: Programs in English and Literary Studies, Linguistics, and Theatre and Media Arts.
- Faculty of Education: Programs in Library and Information Science.
- Faculty of Engineering: Programs in Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Material and Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering.
- Faculty of Management Science: Programs in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, and Public Administration.
- Faculty of Communication and Media Studies: Program in Mass Communication.
- Faculty of Science: Programs in various disciplines including Animal and Environmental Biology, Biochemistry, Computer Science, Geology, Geophysics, Industrial Chemistry, Mathematics, Microbiology, Physics, Plant Science, and Biotechnology.
- Faculty of Social Sciences: Programs in Demography and Social Statistics, Economics, Peace and Conflict Studies, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology.
- Faculty of Multidisciplinary Studies: Programs in Food Security, Commercial Agriculture, Environmental Bio-sciences, Data And Information Science, Governance And Administration, and Gender and Development Studies.
Admission Requirements and Application Process
- Ph.D. Degree Programs: Applicants must hold Master’s degrees with a minimum of 60% score in their respective programs. Ph.D. programs typically run for a minimum of 3 sessions and a maximum of 5 sessions.
- M.Phil /Ph.D. Degree Programs: Candidates scoring between 55.00% and 59.99% Cumulative Weighted Average (CWA) at the Master’s level can apply for admission into the M.Phil/Ph.D. Program.
- Master’s Degree Programs: Candidates must have obtained a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) in their Bachelor’s degrees.
- Payment Procedure: Candidates are required to pay a sum of fifteen thousand naira (N15,000.00) only through the REMITA platform with specific details provided by the university.
Application Instructions and Closing Date
Interested candidates are instructed to follow the application process outlined on the FUOYE website or directly through the Postgraduate Portal. The application deadline is set at six (6) weeks from the date of the announcement.
On the home page of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti website, click on Postgraduate Portal. On the home page displayed, click Application Instruction and read carefully OR log on to https://spgs.fuoye.edu.ng
Use your Application Number as username and SURNAME as password. Carefully type in your Application Number as any error committed will not allow your details to be displayed.
Thereafter, candidates should click the OK button on the dialog box displayed and enter their names.
After Login, click on the Continue Registration link on the main menu.
Fill in your other bio-data and necessary details truthfully on the webpage. All candidates should upload their Passport pictures by clicking on the Browse button and selecting your picture. Your Passport pictures must not be more than 20KB.
On completion of bio-data, click on the Next Step button then click OK on the message dialog box.
All candidates should complete the programme of choice and click on Save then click OK on the message dialog box.
On completion of the choice of program click Next Step button.
