Requirements for the University Librarian Position:

The ideal candidate must meet the following qualifications:

Hold a Ph.D. in Library Science.
Provide evidence of scholarly work in Library and Information Science, published in reputable journals and books.
Have at least 12 years of experience working in a university library.
Have spent a minimum of 5 years as a Deputy Librarian or in a similar role within a university system.
Be a registered member of the Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN) and the Nigerian Library Association (NLA).
Be ICT-compliant.
Not be older than 60 years at the time of assuming the role.

The candidate should have a strong record of scholarly contributions, with publications both in Nigeria and internationally.

Responsibilities of the University Librarian:

The University Librarian is a Principal Officer and head of the library at FUOTUOKE. The key responsibilities include:

Managing the University Library, its branches, and extensions.
Overseeing library services to ensure they meet the needs of the university community.
Reporting directly to the Vice-Chancellor.

Salary and Service Conditions:

The salary and conditions of service for the University Librarian align with those established for federal universities by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
Conditions are subject to change based on government decisions.
