In a memo tabled at the 80th Senate meeting held on December 19, 2023, Prof. Akinwumi highlighted the initial expression of interest in affiliation from Auchi Polytechnic, received on December 2, 2022. FUL swiftly commenced a comprehensive assessment, assembling a three-member team led by Prof. Musa Adeku Ibrahim to conduct a rigorous resource verification at the Polytechnic.
Following a diligent examination, the University Affiliation Team presented a favorable report to the Principal Officers Committee (POC) on June 12, 2023. Subsequently, the POC authorized the formulation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in conjunction with the Auchi Polytechnic team. This culminated in the signing of the MoU on October 17, 2023, at the Federal University Lokoja.
