FULokoja Releases Penalties for Exam Misconduct; This is to inform the University Community that the 2024/2025 Second Semester Examinations will commence on Monday, September 1, 2025.
All students are reminded that the rules and regulations guiding examinations must be strictly adhered to in order to ensure a hitch-free exercise. As contained in the University Student Handbook (2021–2026 revised edition, sections 13.3.1 & 13.3.2), the following offences and penalties apply:
Examination Misconduct and Penalties
- Disobedience/insubordination, rudeness, insulting an invigilator/examiner → Rustication for 2 semesters
- Found with textbook(s), notebook, prepared material, or piece of paper in the hall → Expulsion
- Soliciting or receiving academic assistance during exam → Rustication for 2 semesters
- Impersonation/writing for another candidate → Expulsion
- Found with answer booklet/sheet containing written material → Expulsion
- Found with blank answer booklet/sheet → Rustication for 2 semesters
- Assaulting/threatening an examination officer → Expulsion
- Colluding with staff/students to aid exam misconduct → Expulsion
- Absent without permission or below 75% attendance → Failure in the exam concerned
- Copying or exchanging question/answer sheets → Expulsion
- Collaboration with invigilator/lecturer providing answers → Expulsion
- Illegal removal of answer scripts from the hall → Disqualification + Rustication for 2 semesters
- Bringing in cheat notes, bags, prepared answers, textbooks, or materials → Expulsion
- Consulting cheat notes outside during exam → Expulsion
- Physically assaulting or intimidating invigilator/staff → Expulsion
- Use of phones, calculators, smart devices, Bluetooth, or storage gadgets → Expulsion
- Deliberate destruction of evidence of misconduct → Expulsion
Note: Any lecturer or staff member guilty of aiding malpractice, extortion, or seeking favour in exchange for marks will be referred to the University Staff Disciplinary Committee for necessary action.
Additional Guidelines for Students
- In Computer-Based Exams (CBE), students must be orderly and follow ICT Centre rules.
- Students must sign in at the start of the exam and sign out upon submission.
- Students must present the following at the exam hall entrance:
- Printed Examination Card with passport photograph
- University Identity Card
- Evidence of payment of approved charges/levies
All students are advised to strictly comply with these rules.
