Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the University of Manchester Equity and Merit Scholarship, applicants must:
- Hold an offer of admission to a Master’s degree programme at the University of Manchester.
- Be a resident citizen of one of the following countries:
- Ethiopia
- Malawi
- Rwanda
- Tanzania
- Uganda
- Zimbabwe
- Not have studied outside Africa previously (exceptions apply for training of six months or less).
- Have completed a Bachelor’s degree before September 2023, with excellent academic results (typically ranked in the top 10% of their class).
- Possess at least two years of professional experience relevant to the chosen field of study (excluding unpaid internships or voluntary work).
- Show strong commitment to returning home and demonstrate potential to positively impact their home country.
- Be able to clearly articulate how studying at the University of Manchester will benefit their career and the wider community.
