FUKashere Gets NUC Approval to Launch Four New Programmes. The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full approval for the establishment of four new undergraduate programmes at the Federal University, Kashere (FUK). This approval takes effect from the 2025/2026 academic session.

The development follows a successful resource verification exercise by NUC officials, who assessed the university’s readiness in terms of infrastructure, teaching personnel, and learning facilities.
Approved Full-Time Programmes
The newly approved programmes include:
- MBBS, Medicine and Surgery
- B.Sc. Human Anatomy
- B.Sc. Human Physiology
- B.Sc. Pharmacology
Important Notes
The NUC emphasized that this approval applies only to full-time mode.
Any proposal to run these programmes on a part-time basis must be separately submitted to the Commission for due consideration and approval.
The letter, signed by Abubakar M. Girei on behalf of the Executive Secretary, further directed the university to maintain adequate academic and material standards for the sustained growth of the new programmes.
Significance
The inclusion of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) marks a major milestone for FUKashere, as it positions the university to begin training future medical and health professionals for the region and the country at large.
