The Compliance Manager plays a vital role in promoting and enforcing a strong compliance culture across assigned regions or clusters. This position ensures that Union Bank adheres to legal, regulatory, and internal compliance frameworks, with particular emphasis on Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Financing of Terrorism (CFT), and Know Your Customer (KYC) policies.The role is instrumental in safeguarding the bank from regulatory breaches, financial losses, and reputational risks by maintaining the highest standards of compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and monitor the bank’s compliance framework, policies, and procedures across assigned clusters.
Conduct mandatory and ad hoc reviews to ensure adherence to internal and regulatory standards (e.g., Anti-Bribery, Whistleblowing, and AML policies).
Enforce KYC and KYCB standards for all branch transactions, customer onboarding, and account closure processes.Track, review, and ensure the timely renewal of all regulatory licenses and permits for branches.
Act as the liaison with regulatory authorities and represent the bank during inspections or audits.
Organize periodic compliance training sessions for staff across the designated clusters.Qualifications and Experience
Education: A good first degree (BA/BSc/HND) in Law, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
Experience: Minimum of 5–8 years in compliance, audit, or banking operations.

The Internal Control Officer is responsible for building and maintaining a strong policy and control environment within branch or regional operations. As the first line of defense, the officer ensures daily transactions are executed accurately and align with the bank’s operational guidelines, helping to prevent fraud, errors, and policy violations.Key Responsibilities
Perform daily independent call-overs of high-value or qualifying transactions.
Conduct internal control checks to verify adherence to operational standards.
Execute spot checks, stock-taking, and reconciliation of e-banking products.
Investigate fraud cases, forgeries, and customer-related complaints.
Review and assess branch systems and processes to identify control gaps.
Track and ensure timely resolution of all open issues in internal audit and regulatory reports.
Monitor and validate the integrity of General Ledger (GL) accounts and related entries.Qualifications and Experience
Education: Minimum of a BA/BSc/HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Banking.
