Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus Returns See Photos

Reports of its demise appear to have been premature.

Just when it seemed certain that Samsung had scrapped the Galaxy S26 Plus in favor of a sleeker Edge model, the narrative has taken a sharp turn. Fresh leaks now indicate that the Edge has been shelved instead, while the S26 Plus is very much alive — and scheduled for an early 2026 release. New renders based on leaked specifications offer our first glimpse of the device.

These renders, shared by renowned leaker OnLeaks in collaboration with Android Headlines, reveal a design that feels familiar yet refreshed. The most notable change is the introduction of a new camera island, though it doesn’t stretch across the full width of the phone as rumored for the now-cancelled S26 Edge. Instead, it’s a compact, centralized bump that sits just below the triple-lens array — a look consistent with earlier leaks of the S26 Ultra and S26 Pro, the latter of which also appears to have been dropped from Samsung’s roadmap.

The Galaxy S26 lineup has clearly undergone several shake-ups during its development. Early reports suggested a bold reimagining, with Samsung planning an Ultra, Edge, and smaller Pro variant. However, more recent leaks suggest a return to a more conventional structure — the Pro seemingly replaced by the standard S26, and the Edge giving way to the Plus. Whether those abandoned models will ever surface remains to be seen.

Expect a 6.7-inch display with flat edges.

According to Android Headlines, the S26 Plus measures 7.35mm thick, roughly the same as its S25 Plus predecessor and noticeably thicker than the ultra-slim 5.8mm S25 Edge. This makes it clear that the S26 Plus is not intended to carry on the thin, minimalist design philosophy of the Edge line. In fact, the report adds that the regular S26 will measure 7.24mm, slightly thicker than previous leaks suggested for the Pro, reinforcing the idea that Samsung is stepping away from the ultra-thin trend it pioneered earlier this year.

Still, those who favor slimmer designs may not be completely out of luck. Dutch publication Galaxy Club recently reported that Samsung is developing another thin model under the codename “More Slim.” It’s possible this new device could follow the S25 Edge’s pattern, launching a few months after the main lineup — or it could mark the final chapter for the Edge brand altogether.

Either way, all eyes will be on Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 launch, expected to take place in early 2026, where we’ll finally learn how this turbulent lineup shakes out.
