      Police seize 87 phones after apprehending armed robbers who attacked KWASU students.

      An armed robbery gang that attacked the Kwara State University and targeted students’ phones and other valuables has been apprehended by the Kwara state police command.

      Ridwan Abdulfatai, 20, of Oke Fomo, Ilorin, was one of the robbers who was paraded with two other gang members.

      According to a statement made by the state’s police spokesman, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, the robbers attacked the Kwara State University students on Saturday, October 6, at around 3 a.m. in one of the hostels called “Downtown,” and took their belongings by force.

      Police arrests armed robbers who attacked KWASU students, recover 87 phones

      Ridwan, age 20, was the first person detained by police after they tracked them to their hiding place while the others fled. Investigations led to his admission that he is the gang’s leader, and he eventually divulged the identities and whereabouts of his associates, Ibrahim Ridwan Akorede and Aliyu Abubakar Apalado.

      One locally made gun, one jackknife, charms, and eleven (11) generators are a few of the items retrieved from the suspects. Two (2) motorcycles, one (1) small-size refrigerator, one (1) standing fan, one (1) pumping machine, nineteen (19) iPhone 6 handsets, three (3) iPhone 11 handsets, sixteen (16) iPhone 6 plus, five (5) iPhone XR handsets, and a total of eighty-seven (87) handsets from other phone brands, as well as ten (10) laptops and two (2) televisions.
