Paul Adefarasin Denies Brandishing Firearm in Viral Video
Paul Adefarasin, senior pastor of House on the Rock and convener of The Experience Worship, addressed a viral video showing him holding a pistol-like object while confronting a car spotter filming his Range Rover. The cleric firmly denied that the object was a firearm and stated he did not point it at anyone.
In a Saturday post on X, Mr. Adefarasin responded to the controversy, saying, “You might be aware of a video which has been circulating on social media showing me in what some have misunderstood as brandishing a firearm. I want to assure you of this — that that was certainly not a firearm, and at no point did I point such at anyone.”
Without specifying what he held in the video, Mr. Adefarasin promised to address the incident further during his church’s 9:00 a.m. service on Sunday, adding, “We understand the concern that this accusation may have caused, and we will speak briefly to this mischief during the 9:00 a.m. service tomorrow. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
The controversy began when Peoples Gazette reported on Saturday morning that Mr. Adefarasin appeared to pull a pistol-like object while reacting to a car spotter filming his exotic vehicle. In the viral clip, the spotter, surprised to recognize the pastor, apologizes profusely after Mr. Adefarasin lowers his Range Rover’s tinted window, holds the object in his right hand, and mutters inaudible words.
