The Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB) has announced a new date for the teachers’ recruitment interview, now set for August 26 instead of the previously scheduled August 20.
Dr. Nureni Adeniran, the executive chairman of OYOSUBEB, shared this update during a press briefing in Ibadan on Tuesday. The change was made in light of the state government’s decision to declare August 20 a public holiday in celebration of Isese Day.
Isese Day is an annual event in Oyo State dedicated to celebrating the indigenous Yoruba culture, traditions, and the preservation of Yoruba heritage. As a result, the interviews initially planned for August 20 will now take place on August 26.
The affected applicants are from the following Local Government Areas: Saki West, Saki East, Irepo, Oriire, Olorunsogo, Orelope, Ogbomoso North, and Ogbomoso South.
Dr. Adeniran emphasized the importance of all affected candidates adhering to the new interview schedule.
