The Ogun State Police Command has expressed deep concern over a sharp increase in missing persons cases across the state, cutting across all age groups.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Omolola Odutola, described the trend as unprecedented. She revealed that while a few missing individuals have been located, many remain unaccounted for, leaving families in distress.

“We urge residents to stay vigilant and adopt heightened security measures to safeguard themselves and their loved ones,” Ms. Odutola stated. She emphasized the police’s commitment to proactive measures and community awareness in addressing this disturbing trend.

To curb the growing cases, the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has issued critical safety guidelines.

“Parents are advised not to allow their children to use commercial transportation services with unknown individuals,” she added. “We also encourage young people to activate digital communication and location-sharing features on their mobile devices, especially during travel or in situations of potential danger.”
