The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), operating under Operation Hadin Kai, has confirmed the death of dozens of Boko Haram terrorists and the destruction of their stronghold following a successful airstrike in Borno State.

The precision air operation was carried out in the early hours of Friday in Bita, a known insurgent enclave in Nigeria’s North-East region. The strike targeted fleeing members of the terrorist group.

In a statement released by the Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the mission was described as a significant step toward weakening the operational capacity of the insurgents who continue to threaten national security.

“The Nigerian Air Force, through the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, has recorded a major operational success against Boko Haram terrorists,” the statement read.

“NAF combat aircraft launched precision strikes on fleeing terrorists in Bita, neutralizing scores in one of the most impactful offensives in recent times. The operation was highly coordinated and executed under the cover of darkness, marking a major advance in the fight against terrorism in the North-East.”

Following the air assault, ground troops were deployed to conduct clearance and exploitation missions in the affected area to solidify the operation’s gains.

The NAF reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity and ensuring the safety of all citizens. “All necessary measures are being taken to deny terrorist elements any safe haven within the country,” the statement concluded.
