Offset is reportedly demanding millions of dollars from Cardi B as part of their ongoing divorce settlement—and according to her, that includes one of her properties.
The drama intensified after Cardi confirmed that she is pregnant for her boyfriend, NFL player Stefon Diggs, despite still being legally married to Offset. The revelation stirred controversy online, but in true Cardi fashion, she brushed off the noise and explained why she refuses to be “held hostage” in a marriage she no longer recognizes.
Speaking on Twitter Spaces, Cardi set the record straight:
“Yes, I’m having a baby with somebody else, yes, that’s life… It happens. And let me tell you something—I did things the correct way the first time. I fell in love, I got two rings on my finger, and I lasted seven years that I didn’t need to last with someone in.”
For Cardi, the marriage has been over for a long time—emotionally and practically—though the legal paperwork still lingers. She accused Offset of deliberately stalling the divorce to squeeze financial concessions out of her.
“So stop saying, ‘But you’re still married.’ No, I’m legally separated. The only reason I’m still married is that he wants me to pay his taxes even though I pay mine. He wants me to also give him one of my properties, and I’m fighting against that.”
Cardi, who filed for divorce back in 2024, made it clear she refuses to put her life on pause.
“This isn’t about love or anything like that. So, I’m not going to stop living my life because I’m still married on paper. Somebody wants to hold me hostage unless I give them a million dollars to walk away—that’s not going to happen.”
The Bronx-born rapper also reflected on how toxic the relationship had become, admitting the toll it took on her mental and physical health.
“It’s more than just cheating,” she revealed. “That’s the thing y’all don’t understand. Y’all don’t know half of it. Y’all don’t know most of it. It was a lot. I couldn’t take it anymore. I had to go to a hospital because I couldn’t take it no more.”
While the divorce battle drags on, Cardi is shifting her focus to music. Her recently released sophomore album, Am I The Drama, has already gone platinum, boosted by the success of “WAP,” her chart-topping collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion.
