MC Oluomo charges Lagos transporters a N500 bumper sticker fee to aid Tinubu’s campaign.
The Bola Tinubu presidential campaign is now requiring Danfo drivers, aka, commercial transport workers in Lagos to pay N500 for campaign stickers as a donation, marking a new phase of political irrationality being seen in advance of the 2023 general election.
A video of the recent development, in which an officer of the Lagos State Park Management Committee, headed by Musiliu Akinsanya, better known by his stage name MC Oluomo, was seen forcibly applying campaign stickers to a driver who was refusing to take them, has since gone viral.
The driver who refused to buy the sticker was harassed by the park management officer in the video. The officer struggled with the driver and stated, “You will have to meet the chairman (MC Oluomo) for inquiries.
Human rights activist Rinu Oduala, who posted the video, claims that Mr. Tinubu’s self-described political structure is founded on “crime, oppression, and fraud.”
This is the framework of crime, oppression, and fraud they have in place in order to win elections, if they ask you about structure, Ms. Oduala tweeted.
This is the most recent example of Mr. Tinubu’s egregious abuse of political power, which has further wreaked havoc on the local economy of Nigeria’s commercial metropolis.
The former governor of Lagos has also been charged with exploiting his position to develop numerous methods of systemic extortion while in office by turning over crucial state revenue collecting sectors to consulting firms in which he has a stake.
The informal tax collection in Lagos is still managed by Mr. Tinubu’s devoted supporters or family members. His daughter Folashade Tinubu-Ojo coordinates market fees, and MC Oluomo, a devoted supporter, handles transport tolls.
Dele Alake, the spokeswoman for the Tinubu Campaign Organization, did not respond calls or texts seeking comment at the time this report was filed.
