KWASU Promotes 28 Lecturers, Announces New Professors

The Governing Council of Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has approved the promotion of 28 academic staff, including three new professors and 25 associate professors, across various faculties.

This was announced in a statement issued on Friday in Ilorin by Dr. Saeedat Aliyu, the Acting Director of University Relations. According to her, the promotions were ratified during the 73rd meeting of the university council held on Thursday.

 New Professors

The newly promoted professors are from the Faculties of Agriculture, Arts, and Education:

• Prof. Shehu Abdulganiyu Salau – Agricultural Production Economics

• Prof. Moshood Zakariyah – Sociolinguistics

• Prof. Gafar Olorisade – Educational Administration

 Newly Promoted Associate Professors

The 25 newly promoted associate professors span eight faculties, including Agriculture, Arts, Education, Engineering and Technology, ICT, Law, Management and Social Sciences, and Pure and Applied Sciences.

Faculty of Agriculture:

• Dr. Latifat Kehinde Olatinwo – Agricultural Extension and Rural Development

• Dr. Felicia Motunrayo Olooto – Agricultural Extension and Rural Development

• Dr. Olarinke Victoria Adeniyi – Aquaculture Management

• Dr. James Adebayo Ojo – Entomology

• Dr. Akeem Olayemi Raji – Food Processing Technology

Faculty of Arts:

• Dr. Yahya Toyin Muritala – Modern Arabic Linguistics and Translation

• Dr. Yunusa Muhammed Jamiu – Modern Arabic Literature

• Dr. Oluwatomi Oluwatayo Adeoti – Pragmatics and Discourse Studies

Faculty of Law:

• Dr. Sherifat Hussain-Abubakar – Islamic Family Law and Gender Studies

• Dr. Khalid Ishola Bello – Islamic Economics

• Dr. Olariyike Damola Akintoye – Property and Business Law
