Job Overview:
MasterCard Nigeria is seeking a Head, Enterprise Data Management to oversee the implementation and maintenance of the Foundation’s technical data infrastructure. Reporting to the Senior Director, this leadership role is responsible for enabling accurate analytics and cross-functional collaboration while delivering the Foundation’s Enterprise Data strategy as part of the newly established Data and Analytics sub-function.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Pipeline & ETL Development: Design, develop, and maintain systems and pipelines for ingesting, integrating, and analyzing data at scale.

Data Modeling: Implement data models for system interoperability and BI/analytics requirements, ensuring efficient and reliable data flows.

Data Storage: Lead a team of Data Engineers and Architects to maintain scalable storage architectures, including data warehouses and data lakes.

Data Architecture Framework: Collaborate with senior leadership to define and operationalize a fit-for-purpose data architecture framework.

Data Architecture Implementation: Oversee implementation of data integration, metadata management, and lineage tracking.

Solution Architecture: Co-create solutions with Enterprise Architecture to meet stakeholder needs across the Foundation.

Data Quality Management: Conduct regular audits and assessments to maintain data quality and completeness across Foundation platforms.

Developing Data Strategy: Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement the Foundation’s data strategy aligned with strategic goals.

Leadership & Team Development: Mentor and coach staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment for professional growth.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
2. Minimum 8 years of experience in data management or related roles; international development, research, or social sector experience preferred.
3. At least 3 years in leadership roles with proven team development and mentoring skills.
4. Relevant certifications (CDMP, CIMP) preferred but not required.
5. Expertise in SQL and experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) using Python or similar.
6. Strong understanding of modern SDLC practices, agile methodologies, data engineering, integration techniques, and data modeling fundamentals.
7. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
8. Proven project management skills, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
