Honestly, for me, going to university was absolutely worth it. I come from a very humble background—my parents are not wealthy, and at one point, even paying my first-year fees felt like climbing a mountain. There were days I went to class hungry, nights I studied by candlelight because there was no light at home, and times I considered dropping out when money got too tight.

But looking back now as a graduate, I can boldly say that university changed my life. Beyond the certificate, it gave me exposure, confidence, and a chance to dream bigger than my environment allowed. I met people who inspired me, lecturers who pushed me to think differently, and friends who became my support system. University didn’t just give me knowledge in my field, it gave me opportunities I never would have had if I stayed back in my small corner.

Today, because of that degree, I’ve been able to get jobs that pay me enough to support my family. I’m not where I want to be yet, but I’m no longer where I used to be. For someone like me from a lower-class family, university was my way out of the cycle of struggle. It wasn’t easy at all, but it was worth every single sacrifice.
