Ifeanyi Uba confirms killing of aides in convoy attack
Ifeanyi Uba confirms the deaths of the aids in the convoy attack.
Mr. Ubah continued by saying that some of his police and State Security Service (SSS) security agents had also been killed.
The death of his security and personal assistants during the attack on his convoy on Sunday has been verified by Senator Ifeanyi Ubah (YPP-Anambra South).
On its approach to Mr. Ubah’s rural house in Nnewi on Sunday, his convoy was attacked near the Nkwo Enugwu-Ukwu Market axis in Anambra’s Njikoka local government area.
It was learned that the gunmen opened fire on the caravan, killing many of its passengers as well as other people present at the scene.
The senator said the perpetrators killed his assistants Obum Ikechukwu and Goodness Mathias when he revealed the event to journalists on Monday in Awka.
Mr. Ubah continued by saying that some of his police and State Security Service (SSS) security agents had also been killed.
Police spokesperson Toochukwu Ikenga acknowledged the event but withheld the number of casualties.
Mr. Echeng Echeng, the police commissioner, inspected the area, and he noticed blood smears that indicated the attack had been brutal, according to Mr. Ikenga. “But I can’t say anything on that in terms of giving the number.”
