Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has publicly backed Pastor E.A. Adeboye and the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) amid criticism over Adeboye’s appeal for wealthy members to donate ₦1 billion each for church projects.
In a post on X on August 11, 2025, the artist, whose real name is Tochukwu Ojogwu, emphasized the voluntary nature of the contributions and the importance of funding church operations, likening it to running a business.
In his statement, Odumodublvck wrote, “If I had a billion to contribute to the RCCG, I will do it and even more. It is not by force to service the lord, they did not say if you do not drop 1b you will not enter heaven.” He added, “As for me and my household, we will continue to support the work of Christ shamelessly no matter what you people throw at us. You are just fulfilling the scriptures. God bless you.”
The rapper’s defense comes as Adeboye faces online backlash for the donation request, with critics questioning the church’s financial transparency. Odumodublvck’s remarks highlight his commitment to supporting RCCG’s mission, dismissing detractors and framing their criticism as part of a broader spiritual narrative.
