The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission has filed fresh charges against Abdullahi Ganduje, the former governor of Kano State and current national chairman of the APC. The new charges involve allegations of financial misappropriation and corruption during his time as governor.
The charges include the alleged diversion of N51.3 billion meant for local government projects, the withdrawal of N1 billion under the guise of road rehabilitation, and the misappropriation of N4 billion intended for agricultural purposes. The commission also accused Ganduje of receiving a $210,000 kickback for a government contract related to the remodelling of the Kantin Kwari textile market.
Additionally, Ganduje and several associates, including his wife Hafsat Umar, are implicated in the dishonest conversion of N1.376 billion earmarked for healthcare supplies and the illegal allocation of land meant for public use, resulting in significant financial loss to the state.
These charges mark a significant development in the ongoing investigations into Ganduje’s administration, which have been a point of contention since his tenure as governor
