Google’s next major hardware reveal is almost here. The company has already confirmed that the Pixel 10 series will debut this month, and teasers have given us a good look at what’s coming. Thanks to leaks, though, we know far more than Google would probably like. From the rumored lineup — Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold — to changes in cameras, colors, chips, charging, and even pricing, the picture is becoming very clear.

What’s Official
Google will unveil the Pixel 10 series on August 20th at its Made by Google event in New York. Expect updates on phones, watches, earbuds, and more.

The company has already released an image of one Pixel 10 — likely the Pro model — showing a blue-gray finish that looks almost identical to last year’s Pixel 9 Pro. The iconic camera bar remains, complete with flash and temperature sensor.

Another teaser confirmed the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, which keeps the same design as the Pixel 9 Pro Fold and appears in the same grayish tone. Beyond that, Google hasn’t confirmed much — which is where leaks take over.

Triple Cameras Everywhere
The biggest shakeup this year could be the base Pixel 10 getting a triple-camera setup, including a telephoto lens for the first time.

But there’s a tradeoff. According to Android Authority, the Pixel 10 will use smaller sensors for its main and ultrawide cameras — the same ones from the Pixel 9A — making them less capable in low light. In short: the cameras may actually be worse than the Pixel 9’s, except for the new telephoto. The selfie camera will stay the same.

The Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL reportedly stick with the same triple-camera system as last year’s Pros — which now makes them superior across the board. Meanwhile, the 10 Pro Fold’s cameras will closely match the base 10, with minor upgrades.

Brighter vs. Muted Colors
Leaks from Android Headlines suggest bold new finishes for the Pixel 10 family.

Pixel 10 colors: Obsidian (black), Indigo (bright blue), Frost (light gray), Limoncello (fluorescent green).
Pixel 10 Pro & Pro XL: Obsidian, Porcelain (white), Jade (soft green), Moonstone (gray-blue).
Pixel 10 Pro Fold: Only Moonstone and Jade — no black option at all.
Play Store leaks and Evan Blass’s images reinforce these colorways, highlighting how vibrant the base Pixel 10 is compared to the subdued Pro models.

Qi2 Wireless Charging
Wireless Power Consortium recently announced Qi2 25W magnetic wireless charging, and the Pixel 10 series looks set to embrace it.

Leaks point to a new “Pixelsnap” accessory ecosystem — including chargers, stands, and magnetic cases. An image of a magnetic charging puck suggests that Google won’t stop at Qi2 Ready (charging without magnets) but will go all-in with full magnetic Qi2 support.

The phones are also reportedly thicker and heavier than the Pixel 9 series — possibly to house larger batteries or the magnets needed for Qi2.

First IP68 Foldable
One of the biggest rumors: the Pixel 10 Pro Fold could be the first foldable with an IP68 rating, meaning total dust protection and strong water resistance.

That’s a huge leap over Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Motorola’s Razr Ultra, both rated at IP48. If true, this would be an impressive engineering feat for a foldable device.

Tensor G5 Chip Upgrades
This year’s chipset refresh may be more meaningful than usual. Google is reportedly moving the Tensor G5 production from Samsung to TSMC, using the same 3nm N3E process as Apple’s A18 Pro chip in the iPhone 16 Pro. With redesigned cores, expect major performance gains that could finally close the gap with rivals.

AI Everywhere
AI is once again a cornerstone of Pixel.

Sketch-to-Image: Generate photos from doodles (like Samsung’s version).

Speak-to-Tweak: Use voice commands for edits such as removing objects or brightening shots.

Camera Coach: Gemini-powered tips to improve your photos before you even take them.

Pixel Sense (formerly “Pixie”): A new assistant that learns from Google apps, makes proactive suggestions, and runs entirely on-device.

These will launch alongside Android’s Material 3 Expressive redesign and a new desktop mode, similar to Samsung DeX.

Pricing & Availability
Pricing looks steady, with a few exceptions:

Pixel 10: $799 (128GB), $899 (256GB).
Pixel 10 Pro: $999 (128GB) → $1,449 (1TB).
Pixel 10 Pro XL: Starts at $1,199 (256GB), dropping the 128GB option.
Pixel 10 Pro Fold: $1,799 (256GB), with a new $2,149 (1TB) option.

Release dates may differ. The Pixel 10, 10 Pro, and 10 Pro XL are expected in stores by August 28th, but the 10 Pro Fold could be delayed until October 9th due to supply chain issues. The Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel Buds 2A may also arrive late.

The Bottom Line
The Pixel 10 series looks like an evolution, not a revolution: familiar designs, smarter AI, better durability, and a more ambitious Fold. The base Pixel 10’s triple-camera setup is exciting, but the sensor downgrade may make it a mixed bag. Still, if Google delivers on Qi2 charging, IP68 for the Fold, and a powerful Tensor G5 chip, these could be the most compelling Pixels yet.
