Folasade Ogunsola is appointed as the first female vice chancellor of UNILAG.

With her appointment, Professor Folasade Ogunsola becomes the 13th vice chancellor to lead the 60-year-old organization.

Prof. Folasade Ogunsola has been chosen by the University of Lagos (UNILAG) administration to serve as the school’s first female vice chancellor.

Mrs. Ogunsola will succeed Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, the institution’s departing vice chancellor, whose term ends on November 11, 2022.

Mrs. Ogunsola is now the institution’s thirteen vice-chancellor, thanks to the appointment.

The Selection Committee of Governing Council and Senate interviewed and shortlisted 10 professors on Friday, and Mrs. Ogunsola, 64, ultimately won the position.

She was once the institution’s deputy vice chancellor from 2017 to 2021. The university senate also chose her to serve as acting vice chancellor on August 24, 2020.
