FG appoints new rector for Ede Poly
Dr. Sani Man-Yahaya has been named as the sixth substantive Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Ede in Osun State by President Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd).
A letter containing the appointment was provided to The PUNCH in Osogbo on Wednesday by the institution’s public relations officer, Sola Lawal, and signed by the minister of education, Mallam Adamu Adamu.
The letter states that the appointment was in accordance with the Federal Polytechnic Act as modified and was made for a single tenure of five years beginning on November 21, 2022. (2019).
In a statement that included the new Rector’s résumé, Lawal added that Man-Yahaya had previously served as the Deputy Rector of the Federal Polytechnic in Bida, Niger State.
He received his education at the Federal University of Technology in Minna, Niger State, where he earned his B. Eng. in computer engineering in 1994. He then went on to earn his MSc. in telecommunications engineering at Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria in 2008, and his PhD. in wireless and control engineering there in 2014 as well.
“Dr. Sani Man-Yahaya joined the service of the Federal Polytechnic Bida in 1996 and served in various capacities in the institution before he became a Chief Lecturer at the same Institution,” the statement concluded.
