Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence outfit, xAI, made waves on Wednesday night with the debut of its cutting-edge Grok 4 model, accompanied by the launch of a bold new subscription package, SuperGrok Heavy, set at $300 per month. The reveal unfolded during a lively livestream, where Musk, sporting a leather jacket, stood alongside key xAI executives.

Dubbed by Musk as “surpassing PhD-level expertise across all disciplines without exception,” Grok 4 steps into the ring with heavyweights like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google’s Gemini, and Anthropic’s Claude, intensifying the competition in advanced generative AI development.

In a notable addition, xAI rolled out Grok 4 Heavy, an upgraded version touted as a “multi-agent” system. Musk explained that this variant simulates a teamwork dynamic, with multiple AI entities collaborating to solve problems and refine solutions, drawing a parallel to a dedicated “study group.”
