Tesla CEO Elon Musk returned to the White House this week — his first public appearance there since his highly publicized clash with President Donald Trump.
Musk was spotted Tuesday night attending a White House dinner held in honor of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The event brought together a number of prominent global executives.
“We have the biggest business leaders in the world,” President Trump declared during the dinner.
This marks Musk’s first official White House visit since tensions between him and Trump erupted in June, after Musk stepped down as the informal head of the White House DOGE Office.
The rift emerged as Congress worked on the “Big Beautiful Bill,” a sweeping fiscal package central to Trump’s domestic policy agenda. Musk criticized the bill over concerns about its impact on the national debt. Trump and other Republicans countered that Musk’s true issue was the bill’s phase-out of electric vehicle incentives.
After the legislation passed in July, Musk briefly floated the idea of launching a third political party — the “America Party.” The proposal never fully took shape, and in recent months, Musk has notably scaled back his public critiques of the administration.
The two men reconnected briefly in September at Charlie Kirk’s memorial service, and in October, Trump told reporters that he and Musk had been in occasional contact, describing their rapport as “good.”
“I like Elon,” Trump said at the time. “I’ve always liked him.”
Other top business figures at Tuesday’s dinner included Apple CEO Tim Cook, AMD CEO Lisa Su, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, and several others.
