Cancel culture has become one of the most debated social phenomena of our time. At its core, it claims to demand accountability, calling out harmful actions, outdated beliefs, or offensive behavior. In theory, it’s meant to push individuals and institutions to take responsibility.

But in practice, cancel culture often blurs the line between accountability and destruction. Sometimes, a single mistake or controversial opinion can erase years of work, with little room for growth, dialogue, or forgiveness. For some, it feels less like justice and more like public execution.

So, is cancel culture a necessary tool for social progress, or has it become a weapon that silences people instead of teaching them?
