The Chinese startup has introduced Janus-Pro, an advanced image-generation model designed to rival leading U.S. models like DALL-E 3 and Stable Diffusion. Janus-Pro, a multimodal AI model, converts text prompts into images with reportedly superior quality and accuracy compared to its competitors.

DeepSeek describes Janus-Pro as a “novel autoregressive framework” that improves AI image generation by separating the steps of analysis and generation, rather than forcing both into a single process.
“This decoupling not only alleviates the conflict between the visual encoder’s roles in understanding and generation but also enhances the framework’s flexibility,” DeepSeek explained.
