Nigerian music superstar Davido delivered an electrifying performance in Ethiopia on September 11, 2024, as the country welcomed the year 2017, based on its unique Orthodox Tewahedo calendar. Ethiopia, unlike most of the world, follows a 13-month calendar that is seven years behind the widely used Gregorian calendar.
Performing to a sold-out crowd, Davido treated fans to his chart-topping hits, including songs from his record-breaking fourth album, Timeless. The Grammy-nominated artist continues to showcase Afrobeats on the global stage with his thrilling performances and award-winning music.
This performance in Ethiopia follows Davido’s show in Saint-Tropez, where notable figures like Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola were present. Davido also made headlines during his time in France when he met with a Saudi prince, proudly introducing himself as the “King of Nigeria.”
2024 has been an incredible year for Davido so far, with three nominations at the 66th Grammys. Additionally, his recent collaboration with five-time Grammy winner Angelique Kidjo on the single Joy has further fueled Grammy buzz ahead of the 67th awards.
