Program Overview
The Graduate Trainee Program seeks analytical, driven, and resourceful candidates who have taken proactive steps to enrich their profiles and are ready to learn and grow in the financial industry. If you are passionate about financial services and want to join a results-driven team of young professionals, this is your opportunity.Trainee roles cut across Technical and Non-Technical functions in departments such as Investment Banking, Investment Research, Portfolio Management, Legal, and more.
Technical Roles
Analyze financial statements and conduct due diligence on potential investee companies.
Prepare valuations and build robust financial models for diverse sectors.
Execute trades for clients with attention to volume-weighted average price and urgency.
Identify and evaluate investment opportunities across asset classes to grow client assets.
Research domestic and global market trends to maximize CardinalStone’s interests.
Maintain client asset allocation and rebalance portfolios when needed.Non-Technical Roles
Investment Advisory (Sales):Provide personalized investment strategies and advice to clients.
Promote the firm’s products and alternative investments to grow Assets under Management (AUM).
Nurture client relationships for retention and repeat business.
Prospect new clients and follow market trends to optimize investment opportunities.
Institutional Sales:Serve as a Sales & Client Executive for institutional clients, including insurance companies, asset managers, PFAs, corporate and fintech firms.
Grow business through new client acquisition and expand existing relationships.
Support senior sales executives on strategic opportunities.
Operations & Transformation:Lead business transformation projects to improve efficiency and operational excellence.
Collaborate across teams to integrate tools that streamline processes and optimize performance.
Internal Control:Assist in developing and implementing internal control policies.
Conduct regular reviews to identify weaknesses and enhance processes.
Support compliance efforts across back-office operations and electronic trade reporting.
Trustees & Legal:Draft and revise contracts, trust deeds, MoUs, and internal policies.
Manage client trust portfolios, ensuring consistent, high-quality service.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards including KYC, AML/CFT, and SEC guidelines.
Financial Control:Compile and analyze financial data for statements in compliance with regulations.
Review journal entries and support regulatory reporting.
Implement new IFRS financial reporting requirements as needed.
Human Resources:Support recruitment, onboarding, and employee engagement initiatives.
Assist in developing and implementing HR policies and process improvements.Qualifications & Requirements
0–2 years of experience.
Bachelor’s Degree with Second-Class Upper Honors in a numerical or business-related course.
Minimum of 5 O’level credits, including English and Mathematics, at one sitting.
Completion of NYSC required.
Must be 26 years old or younger.
Passionate about financial services.
Master’s degree and CIS certificate are an added advantage.
Proficiency with Bloomberg and other financial tools.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Result-driven, team-oriented, and open to learning.
