2025 UTME: JAMB Releases Results of Mock Examination

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the results of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mock test, which was held on Thursday.

This announcement was made on Sunday in a statement by JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin.

Dr. Benjamin advised candidates who took part in the mock UTME to check their results by sending “MOCKRESULT” via SMS to either 55019 or 66019. He emphasized that candidates must use the same phone number (SIM) they used during registration for the examination.

He explained that the mock examination was optional and was primarily organized to test the new features and innovations introduced by the board for this year’s UTME. Additionally, it offered candidates a hands-on opportunity to familiarize themselves with the Computer-Based Test (CBT) environment ahead of the main examination.

“The mock UTME has, over the years, proven to be a successful initiative,” he said. “It has helped the board to identify and correct lapses while giving candidates meaningful exposure and preparation for the real exam.”

According to him, a total of 200,115 candidates initially registered to take part in the mock examination. However, two candidates later withdrew their participation, bringing the final registration number to 200,113.

On the day of the mock exam, 73,844 candidates were absent, and 88 candidates were unable to take the test due to failure in biometric verification. As a result, 126,181 candidates successfully sat for the mock UTME.

Out of those who participated, results for 115,735 candidates have already been released and are accessible, while the remaining 10,446 results are still undergoing processing and will be made available shortly.

Dr. Benjamin also acknowledged that some candidates experienced delays during the mock exam and apologized for the inconvenience. He explained that these challenges were not unexpected, as they were largely due to the introduction of new features meant to improve the efficiency and integrity of the main UTME.

The board reassured candidates and stakeholders that the lessons learned from the mock exam would be used to further streamline the process ahead of the main UTME.
