So I watched the Ironheart trailer and… be serious, Marvel.
From the first few seconds, I could already tell this was going to be one of those “what are we even doing here” situations. Look, I’m all for new characters, strong women, and expanding the Marvel universe. But why does it always have to come at the cost of everything that made the originals iconic?
Let’s start with the obvious: why are we shading Iron Man? I get it, Riri Williams is supposed to be the next tech genius, the new “Iron legacy” or whatever. But from what I’m seeing, it just looks like a watered-down, attitude-for-no-reason version of Tony Stark. You can’t just slap on a suit and expect us to care. Where’s the swag? The charm? The reason to root for her?
And can we talk about how Marvel keeps making female leads feel like filler content? Half-baked dialogue, awkward writing, and vibes that scream “forced representation” instead of just… a well-written character. Riri deserves better than this, honestly. We all do.
Verdict (just from the trailer):
It’s not looking good, y’all. Maybe the actual show will surprise us, but right now? I’m not impressed. At all.
