FG Yet To Meet Most Of Our Demands – ASUU Laments; According to the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the Federal Government has yet to fulfill the majority of the requests stated during the 2022 strike.

Speaking during an interview with Channels TV on Thursday, April 6, the union president, Emmanuel Osodeke, said since they called off the strike based on a court order, the federal government never bothered to convene a single meeting with the union and also refused to pay them their entitlements.
He explained that the union members are battling to meet up with the academic calendar in spite of the government’s position on pro-rata pay.
When asked about the newly approved N320 billion intervention fund, Osodeke praised the government for releasing the funds and requested that 90% of the funds be redistributed to tertiary institutions. According to him, only roughly N186 billion (59%) of the N320 billion will flow straight into the coffers of all universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education, with the remaining N132 billion going to the TETFund for administrative purposes.
