Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas Bonny Appoints Two Deputy Rectors; The management of the Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny has officially announced the appointment of two Deputy Rectors in the areas of Academic and Administration.
The newly appointed officials are:

- Engr. Dr. Binfa Bongfa – Deputy Rector (Academic)
- Dr. Noel Akos – Deputy Rector (Administration)
Appointment Process and Criteria
The appointment of Deputy Rectors in Nigerian Polytechnics is guided by the Federal Polytechnics Act. Candidates are thoroughly scrutinized based on academic leadership, administrative competence, integrity, and technological proficiency.
The two appointees were selected after meeting the following key requirements:
- Experience: Proven leadership in both academic and administrative roles, with achievements in policy formulation and institutional management.
- Publications: Evidence of scholarly works published in reputable journals and participation in academic conferences.
- Professional Standing: Active membership in professional bodies recognized by the Federal Government.
- Vision: Clear initiatives and contributions toward the sustainable growth and development of the Polytechnic.
- Integrity: Strong moral character, excellent reputation, and sound physical and mental health.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
Roles and Responsibilities
Deputy Rectors are principal officers of the Polytechnic and play a critical role in its governance. They provide leadership support, oversee key administrative and academic functions, and often represent or act on behalf of the Rector when required.
